In 2022, DNO Catering relocated to Halifax, bringing Chef Daniel's expertise and the company's outstanding service to the East Coast. This move allowed DNO Catering to expand into a new market, taking advantage of Halifax's vibrant food scene and rich supply of fresh, local produce; continuing the company’s tradition of delivering memorable dining experiences.

Chef Daniel Obeng's culinary journey began in West Africa, where he was profoundly influenced by the rich, vibrant flavors of his grandmother’s kitchen. From an early age, the sights, sounds, and tastes of traditional West African cooking ignited his passion for the culinary arts, shaping his future and inspiring him to pursue a career in the kitchen.
Chef Obeng moved to Toronto, where he worked in renowned restaurants and trained under some of the city’s most acclaimed chefs. His time in Toronto was a period of intense growth, allowing him to refine his skills and develop a unique style of fusion cuisine that combines element of various cuisines including French and Asian.
Chef Obeng’s formal culinary education was completed at George Brown College, where he graduated with distinction from the Culinary Arts program. His dedication to his craft earned him the prestigious Red Seal certification, a mark of his expertise and professionalism in the culinary field.
Chef Obeng’s love for the culinary arts has taken him from Ghana where he was born, to Toronto where he grew up, internationally to China and most recently to Nova Scotia. Furthering his commitment to excellence, Chef Obeng collaborated with the Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) as a faculty member, sharing his knowledge and experience with aspiring chefs. His role at NSCC allowed him to contribute to the development of the next generation of culinary talent, fostering a new wave of creativity and skill in the industry.
Chef Daniel Obeng's world travels have also played a significant role in shaping his culinary perspective. His international experiences have broadened his understanding of global food cultures, enriching his approach to cooking and enhancing his repertoire with diverse influences.
